This heat is killing me! One day after another South Carolina is being battered by 90+ degree heat. Born and bred in Boston, I am ready for the fall breeze to roll in and push out this heat wave. There is a certain smell back in Boston that just signals that Fall is right around the corner. But my hair, nor my wardrobe can take this humidity any longer.
Right around the first of September I get this itch to slip on a fall sweater and my favorite jeans. Each morning as I pick out my outfit I gaze longingly at the jeans piled in the back of my wardrobe-- and think, soon, soon I will be able to wear you.
But my longing for fall is not solely based on my clothing choices, but my shoes. There comes a point at the end of the summer when my duck boots become the most irresistible shoes in my closet. This is probably because Clemson could be called the Seattle of the South, i mean it is constantly raining here. I have this theory that all college kids believe that their school rains more than all the others because through elementary and high school we just don't notice because we are stuck inside all day long. Now that we have to walk through the rain it becomes such a priority to care about the rain.

In the meantime, I'll stick to my shorts and flip flops. I have a moral objection against wearing rain boots with shorts, skirts or dresses. They should only be worn with pants, leggings, or other lower body coverings of your choice.
Stay dry my friends.
Enjoy xoxo
